I am constantly watching YouTube videos or listening to podcasts from people who have been successful at doing what I am trying to do. That’s basically how I learned how to start this small business, which is a good thing because I learned something very important this week! I was listening to a Live Q&A from Steph at Handmade Bosses and one of the questions pertained to seasonal collections. What I learned was, for seasonal collections, you need to have them out and for sale 2-3 months before the season or holiday, which caused me to panic, pull up my release calendar, and immediately switch around all of my dates that I had planned. 😅  It’s a great thing I had drawn all those fall patterns (see where I talk about that in last weeks newsletter ‘How many fall patterns are too many?’) because they are now complete and ready for release!

Fall Collection News

So great news, my Fall Collection is complete thanks to my obsession with autumn, pumpkins, and everything else in that season! I am working on adding the patterns to products on my website, which is a painstakingly long process unfortunately. In the next couple of weeks I will be promoting the patterns and products I’m putting them on and will launch the collection on August 27th!

Fall Product Selection

Thanks to my Instagram followers, I was able to narrow down what products to put my fall patterns on! The results are in the graphic above. I never know what people really want, since I am only one person, so it’s been a big help having an audience who will engage with my Instagram Stories and let me know what they would buy!

Updates

• I am having an End of Summer (good riddance) sale on my website! It will run from August 22-25. Next week I’ll send out discount codes exclusively for my newsletter subscribers, so keep an eye out!

• I have a Halloween Mini Collection coming out in Mid-September! It does go against the “start selling seasonal items 2-3 months before” logic, but I don’t really have a choice since I’m not sure if the collection is finished. 😂 

• Project Stationary has been put on the backburner for the moment. I have it slated to come out in October, after I have finished and promoted my Winter Collection.
