It's been one month already!?

Digital files & product reviews & new patterns, oh my!

I feel like it is very fitting that this newsletter is going out one month after I started the concept of Designs by KLM! I feel like I am finding my footing in what I want this journey to be, and I am excited to see what other ideas I come up with. Thank you for all your support along the way! Now for the exciting stuff.

Digital Files are Here!

My whole design journey really started with the idea of me creating digital files for inserts for clear kindle covers. Once I did more research into products and print on demand, that took over my focus. Now that I have most of my designs on products I want to offer, I was able to shift my focus to the digital files. It took a little bit of research on the sizes, but I was able to figure it out. The files contain one pattern, some of them with color variations, in four Kindle sizes. I was able to format them specifically for printing and they will have crop marks to make it easier for cutting. Check out the digital files on my website here!

These were purchased from RedBubble, but can also be found on my website!

Product Reviews

As I mentioned in my “These Are a Few of my Favorite Things” blog post, the platforms I use to sell products do an amazing job at convincing me I need to buy my own products. Obviously, this is a good thing because if I want to buy them, maybe other people will too. But I am always concerned about quality with really everything I buy. So last week I bought a handful of my products from my website and RedBubble to review.

I purchased the Gardening with my Gnomies design mug, Cozy Book Lovers journal, and an assortment of stickers from RedBubble. From my website, I bought a Cozy Book Lovers tumbler, a Summer Fun Pattern bikini, a Pineapple Watermelon Pattern scrunchie and a Gardening with my Gnomies design tshirt.

The Gardening with my Gnomies design mug and Cozy Book Lovers journal arrived first from RedBubble. I was very impressed with the delivery speed of these. They were in my hands 5 days after I placed the order, and I ordered on a Friday afternoon. The quality was very good. The mug is sturdy, able to go through the dishwasher, and in the microwave, even with the design. The printing of the design is very good. I was a little disappointed that the image wasn’t more crisp, but my husband assured me that this was a “me thing” and not a printing thing. 😂

New Patterns

Here is a sneak peak at one of my new patterns! I have the green swatch on RedBubble and will be launching all swatches up on RedBubble and my website on July 14th. I am trying to get feedback on what products to apply patterns to, so give me feedback on my poll below. For this pattern, I am thinking home decor and tote bags but will put it on whatever the people want!

I am also in the process of creating a succulent pattern! The design elements spoke to me. Once I got them created in a new art style, my creativity kind of fell off with it. I went to put it into the pattern and nothing feels like it is working so I am taking a step back from it until something comes to me.
